2003 Humanitarian of the Year

L. Daniel Slusher (Dan) stepped down from the Milford Miami Township Chamber Board and the presidency in June 2001 after serving as President in 1996, 97, 98 and again in 2000. As President he saw the chamber through the unfortunate, passing of Mary Ann Partin and for the year after her death he was the driving force behind keeping the Chamber open and involved in the community. Over the past nine years Dan has devoted untold volunteer hours to the Chambers Education Committee, of which he is still enthusiastically involved and is currently working on the subcommittee –Silver Eagles—which will work to increase involvement of area seniors with the Milford Exempted Village Schools. He has been a true friend to Milford and Miami Township businesses through his longtime commitment and dedication to the area and his belief that it can be a better place to live and work. He initiated the Milford Task Force after members of the business community came to him as President of the Chamber with a need for unity in marketing and a direction for the continued prosperity and growth of the area. Dan continues to actively serve the community with the Milford Athletic Boosters and Hoops. He can best be described as: highly energized, extremely motivated, and a constant visionary. |
