Hi Ed,
Don't know if I can trust all this "spacey" stuff, so if you
receive this twice, just consider the source!!!
I think we could/should do a combination of ALL the suggestions!
What about if we come up with an exercise program and meet EARLY with the ski
clubs to get them started on their conditioning and training, then maybe go back
and have a safety talk at one of their school meetings before the snow flies.
(Good guy image!) (Once the bus arrives at the slopes, it will be
extremely difficult to capture the teenagers attention...they are there and they
want to get on the snow! Bad guy image!) Or once they get their
equipment on THEN we have a captive audience on the snow...they can't run away
with skis on! Or the advisors could make it an incentive program to take a
lesson first...? (Coupon for McDonald's???)
Let me know what the others think, I'm willing to plan to help with
something starting in January or beginning next fall for the pre-season.
(Joe and I have spent 2 years on a planning committee for a national
cross-country meet coming up in December involving 3,000 people...my time is not
my own until this event is over!!!)
Peace to you today and always, Anita Gerstle
