Congratulations
Hammerheads of Lego-Lantis! You have put forth tremendous effort
and research to implement your rain garden and produce the skit I
viewed at lunch today. It is very refreshing to experience your
generation taking action to inform, educate and improve the
environment and with such creativity! Here is a link to another
program in the Cincinnati area that is working to improve the
Millcreek.

Please keep up the
great work. I know that you will place at the top in the
Nationals!
Have a great rest of

Hammerheads,
A sincere
congratulations to you all for the Gracious Professionalism
Trophy, your State Bid from the I-Space Cincinnati Regional, and
the perseverance it takes to prepare for and FLL tournament. Your
achievements and website are evidence of your hard work.
Funny isn't it, that
out of the 46 teams at the competition, the two teams who took a
field trip to the Metropolitan Sewer Distict shared the same table
in the pit area.
Good Luck at the State
tournament!

Great project! Hope you will learn AND educate others at the
same time! I grew up during a time when the Mill Creek would occasionally
catch fire! It has come a long way, but has much yet to go.

The Reading Hammerheads were AWESOME in their
assistance to the Blue Ash Elementary School Lego League teams.
The Hammerheads' coaching of the Blue Ash teams was very helpful.
The parents of the Blue Ash teams want to say thanks to your
entire Reading team for being - simply put - super nice kids!!
Good luck at the competition and with your efforts to clean up
Mill Creek !

The website seems to be very advanced in content for a group of
sixth graders. It seems as if they have put a lot of time, effort,
and research into the website and their mission. Good Luck!

Your team has conducted
a lot of research in order to produce a skit of the quality with
which it was performed. Team members are genuinely energetic and
interested in the impact the Mill Creek has on their world --
local & global. I enjoyed the skit, learned about the Rain
Gardens and even think there are some future actors in the group
as well!!! Good luck with the team competition and keep an
interest in your environment.

Your website is quite
impressive! I had the privilege of previewing your skit yesterday
afternoon, and I was awed by your commitment, and by your
brilliant creativity.
I have already shared
the information with colleagues, friends, and family, and will be
sending them the link to your website. I look forward to more
information about how to plant my own rain garden. (Will you be
adding that link soon?)
Also, have you
considered adding the team members' names under the photo on the
page which features the team?
I am proud to work in a
community with such forward-thinking youth.

Some
answers:
1)
Thank you for your comments.
2)
There are links to several websites about rain gardens in our
links section. One has a quite detailed plan for creating
one.
3)
We considered including names of team members, but decided that we
would not for security reasons. This is an open website and
we want to be cautious. |

The skit you presented
to the sixth grade was very informational. You obviously spent a
great amount of time researching and learning about the Mill
Creek. I learned so much about what has caused the deterioration
of the Mill Creek over time and what can possibly be done to
correct the situation. Good luck with your project and keep me
informed of your progress.

Great idea and Good
Luck! I work with Reading on their storm water program and other
related services. The City of Reading is very interested in the
health of the Mill Creek. We can certainly be a resource for you
to help with your project goals and provide opportunities for
involvement in local storm water issues.
Thanks for your
interest and enthusiasm. I look forward to the Rain Garden.

Dear Hammerheads,
I applaud your efforts
to reduce water consumption and recycle rain water, thereby
lessening the load on the stressed combined sewer system in
Hamilton County. This helps reduce overflow situations which send
our pollution to communities downstream. Remember that most of the
water you will drink in your lifetime will come from the Ohio
River, and that our drinking water is affected by pollutants and
sewage discharged upstream from Cincinnati. The cleaner the river,
the safer our drinking water will be and the less treatment it
will require. We should attempt to treat our neighbors downstream
as we would like our upstream neighbors to treat us, by minimizing
and eventually eliminating untreated sewage discharges. This could
happen within your lifetimes, if enough members of your generation
care to pursue it. Your project is a good start toward that goal.

Hammerheads,
I like you site. You are working on some very important aspects
of our community, Evendale. The Mill Creek runs right through the
center of Evendale and not too many years ago it was utilized as a
great resource to the community. If you need anything from the
Village of Evendale I would be happy to work with you to provide
you what we can.
Keep up the good work.

Good luck on your rain garden project. You have
chosen a very important issue as the focus of your project. I grew
up in the Greater Cincinnati area and have seen the Mill Creek at
its worst. I have also recently canoed on the Mill Creek and have
seen the beauty that surrounds it in some places. I hope through
the course of working on the team's project you develop an
understanding of how important our waterways are and how important
it is to keep them clean. Perhaps your generation will continue
the efforts being made by some today to save our waterways for the
good of us all.

Greetings to the Hill Top Hammerheads team!
What a great website! I am very pleased that you have selected
the Mill Creek as the focus of your project this year. Our
organization, the Mill Creek Watershed Council of Communities, is
always pleased to have people like you involved in improving our
waterways. I think your project will make more people aware of the
Mill Creek and what they can do to help.
I am also pleased that you will be installing a rain garden
next spring to capture runoff from the school rooftop before it
reaches the storm drains. If everyone did the same thing, we would
have fewer pollutants in our streams.
Keep up the good work and good luck in the competition.

Hammerheads of LEGO-lantis,
Wow!!! What a great website, great name, great logo and an
absolutely amazing mission statement. You are demonstrating some
pretty impressive skills in areas far beyond robotics. Your
project is right on target and your plan to put it into action is
truly admirable.
iSPACE is very proud to have you as competitors in our FLL
tournament. You represent everything good about this project.
My very best wishes for a successful competition.

Hello Hammerheads of LEGO-lantis!
I love the website you have created to highlight
your FLL team's work. I especially am impressed that you have
created a Mission Statement for your team this year. That effort,
in and of itself, indicates that you are aware of what is expected
in the "work world" of adults. You are demonstrating
skills that employers would find admirable and also indicates that
you take your work seriously, which can be defined as work ethic
for your group. Keep up the excellent work. If you do not even
take home a trophy, you should be proud of what you already have
accomplished - let alone ALL that you will have accomplished by
the time the FLL season is over. I wish you the best in your
efforts. No matter how your team fares at the competition, your
team will be tops with me on a level that far exceeds winning a
trophy. I think you've won "big time" just from what I
see here and from the praises of your coach, Mrs. St. Cyr.
See you soon.
